Camera Obscura
I used a empty phone box and took it outside to try and catch something this was a attempt to create a image however some things could have arguably gone better as the image i got was unclear to get a better image i could hold the box more still or close the lens faster

Vjeko sager
1. My first impressions of this photograph was that it was a model rather than paper to me it looked like a marbel peace but looking further i saw many folds and cuts. The perspective and lighting are shot in a way so that the material doesn’t look like paper
2. I think the purpose is to show what you can do with correct lighting materials and cuts as in my previous answer i said it looked like marbel even if its paper
3. My first impressions should definitely change as at first i was wrong with what Vjeko sager made until i looked closer at the photograph taken
4. 3D lighting
.Paper cutouts
.It was taken in the studio where he made this peace
.I would say yes
.Vjeko sager
.It was taken to show off the lighting capabilities in his peace
.I think it did.yes
.The effect it has today is to show that photography has many forms of art and styles to be worked on and looked at deeper as a
whole
.I say it informed me as i didn’t think of it as anything else other than folds until i was told about orogarmy and many diffrent types of photographs
.I would say its relivent as this was taken in modern times

What went well
What i think went well was the lighting in most of the photos. For example look at the 1st and 7th photo the shadows look realy clear and visible and stand out menwhile look at the 4th and 8th photos the paper cutouts are shown more with close ups
What could’ve gone better
I think the things that could’ve gone better are the cutouts as some edges were sliced in a very rough way witch messed up some shadows and the overall look of my photography experiment another thing as well is look at the 6th picture specifically if you look closely a bit of a folder got in frame this is not good as the main point was to have no outside influence
Francis bruguiere
He was a American photographer interested in cut paper pieces and used multiple light sources for his work
I really like this peace as its very simplistic and easy to follow and the zigzag pattern looks really nice in the lighting. Another thing is that i think he used this pattern in his peace to get as much clear shadows as possible and for it to really stand out
1.Its a cut paper drawing using shadows and artificial light 2.It shows a peace of paper being cut in ways to create shadows and patterns in the photograph 3.It was taken in a studio with bright lights 4.I would say it definitely was 5.The artist behind this peace is Francis Bruguiere 6.To show a new form of photography 7.I would say it did 8.The effect it has today is very big i would say 9.Not really i would say 10.It could be considered that if you look at it that way i would say |
My attempt at this
My favourite image
I chose this image as my favourite as it gets all details of the peace I made.First off out of all the photos the lighting is better and shows nothing outside of the environment and the shadows become very clear with the holes at the top projecting light
Editing progress
Black and white
Overall I love how the final image turned out as it brings the lighting and shadows together and if you look closely you can see the further down the more darker and clearer the shadows become with the holes at the top projecting the light down the tunnel and for the deep black look at the end of the tunnel I used my hoodie to cover the other side letting no light in and creating the effect you see here in my photograph
My second attempt
I think this second attempt is better in many ways. Firstly i used many colours with coloured film that i had access to which created this effect on the last 20 photographs. Secondly the scrunched up and crushed paper created a much better effect in my opinion and added more variety in each photograph i did. Finally the light and shadows definitely came out better and way more clear which will look amazing in photoshop
Black and white inverted photos
Editing the photos
I really like how this turned out with the colors
Test strips
I went into the dark room to transfer the image onto the test strips of paper using light from the exposer and scan it onto the computer using the printer
3 seconds exposure time 2 seconds exposure time
Looking at the photographs i can clearly see the difference between both test strips. For example when exposed for 3 seconds it became more dark and less detailed but in the second photograph you can see more patterns and less dark spots on the strip of paper. However in the 3 second exposure time photograph if you look at the test strip on the right the darkness creates more detail than it does on the 2 second one i think this is because the way i photoshoped them.

Light painting
My attempt at this
Light as a subject
William Christenberry was a American man who lived from 1936-2016 with his photos being of abandoned buildings overlapping with nature or shadows and the photos are inspired by his childhood where he grew up in hale county Alabama while known mainly for his photographs he was also a painter teacher and sculptor while also studying the effects that nostalgia and memories had on how people view the world
My favourite image
This is my favourite image as its the perfect mixture of grey concrete buildings and metal to green vines and leafs while not looking to abandoned or destroyed and it definitely feels nostalgic or like i've been here before something he was studying in his photographs. Also the usage of having no visible people or animals does what the original purpose of the photograph is meant to do which is having the area feel abandoned and lost almost like a feeling of loneliness. I think that the style is a classic photograph which looks as though it hasn't be edited.

My attempt at this
I took a different approach to this form of photography by combining one photograph of a construction site and one photograph of a field that I took and putting them next to each over in a diptych instead of a photograph of both overlapping and if you look closely i made the black and white image of the field lighter and brighter to symbolise the calming feel of nature and made the constitution site more darker and gloomy and have a unnatural feel. It was taken to show the big difference between the city and the outskirts of the city and achieved its original purpose which is the effect it has today
|
.I think these photographs in particular really work well with my original purpose to capture buildings in a position that makes them look big and towering or abandoned whilst also branching out in types of photographs. For example the last one (bottom right) witch was taken in the reflection of a puddle while it was raining it shows a flipped image of the building in the puddle but still shows the scale of the buildings or in the second photograph (top right) i angled the camera up and placed it very low to the ground to extend the hight of the building also in the third photograph (bottom left) I was inspired by Williams photograph he did of a shack. But overall the ones that work best in my opinion are the ones witch are angled up and lowed to the ground as it very accurately portrays the theme of the buildings towering over and being large and almost threatening which can be seen in the first two photographs and a little bit in the last photograph.
My collection of images
Second attempt
Third attempt
Result
William Christianberrys photographs include pictures of buildings that are large or overlapping with nature. Taken at a variety of different angles something I've replicated here and added the effects of light and reflection or out of or slightly out of focus photographs and definitely kept to his style of photography
